Our Newest Past Time
When we were on vacation earlier this month, my sister’s church had a festival on Oct. 31st. There were a few booths for crafts and one had these FunFusion bead like things.
It was the first time we had ever seen them and the kids had a blast making one there. So when my sister and I went to Hobby Lobby, she picked up some and they were a hit the whole time we were there.
So, when we got home, one of the first stops was, Hobby Lobby to buy some. The kids are still at it, after studies of course. 🙂
I got tired of ironing them, that I taught the kids how to do it so they can do it themselves. Funny, because that became part of the fun for them. LOL! I am always close by as they use the iron.
First they create their masterpiece on these templates. They come in all shapes and sizes.
Here is the creation ready to be ironed.
You place a piece of wax like paper on it and then iron it until the beads are fused together, about 16-20 seconds on medium heat. You iron both sides.
Here it is all fused together. You can then place magnets behind it or a safety pin on the back. You can even, some how, make a whole where you can thread a ribbon or string through. We haven’t tried that one yet.
MaryEllen likes to do horses, and they have a template in the shape of a square that you can make your own shapes and creations. She will do horses or ponies.
Now where to store these creations. I think I will have the kids give a few to their grandmother and aunt as gifts.
Well, gotta get back to fusing!
Blessings,
