Wow, it has been a long time since I wrote a blog post. I stopped blogging in 2014 and only peeked in here a couple of times to share some notebooking pages that went with my anatomy set.

I am glad to be back and hope that I can get back into the swing of things. I had only meant to be away for a year or two, but time flew by and now we are in 2020.

For my first post back, I am going to share some artwork from my daughter, MaryEllen. I have a link to her artwork above and wanted to update it because she has come a long way with her art.

About five years ago, she began to try her hand at digital drawing. She improves each year. Yip, I am a proud mama. 😊

She is now 20 years old. She enjoys creating what she calls fanart. She shares her art on Twitter and an app on her phone called Amino.

Her style is Manga or Anime. I believe they are Japanese. She says she puts her own twist to them.

Here is where she was at when I quit blogging. She made this picture of Voltron for me for my birthday in 2015. I had shared with her and Donnie how I use to watch Voltron growing up. We then looked the episodes up on YouTube I believe and we watched them together. That was fun!!

This is one of her first digital pieces done in 2015. Can you guess who it is? She had just read or was reading Lord of the Rings and watched the movies.

Here are a few pieces of traditional art from 2018. She drew these to send to her cousins for their birthdays. Some are thank-yous for gifts she received.

She drew this one for May-the-Fourth. It is fanart with a Star Wars twist.

 

This is fanart. Maybe you recognize the characters. She drew it for Mother’s Day and shared it to her online community.

 

She drew this beautiful lighthouse as a birthday gift for a lady at church.

I would really love to see her talent used for children’s books. I believe that these years have been a good teaching ground and that the right path will present itself. She isn’t sure exactly what she wants to do with her art.
