Yes, it is a Voltron Lion. How many of you remember Voltron back in the ’80’s?

The kids have a lot of toys, way more than I ever had growing up. Way more than all my 3 sister and I combined had growing up. LOL! Anyway, my son was wanting more transformers and I told him he needed to wait before he bought any more. I went on to say that when I was younger, I wanted all the Voltron Lions, but never got one and I survived. No big deal now that I am an adult.

They asked me what Voltron was and I explained it to them, five lions coming together to form Voltron, a powerful robot. Each lion was a different color and from my memory came from different areas which I couldn’t remember beyond water.

Well, the kids, without me knowing, found one on Ebay. I knew they were on Ebay, but I didn’t know they were looking for a gift for me. When they found what they were looking for, they told me they found me a mom’s day/birthday gift and wanted to order it. I walked them through the payment process. They were so excited and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

When it finally arrived, the kids couldn’t wait until I opened it. They decided I could open it that Friday since it would be the halfway point between mom’s day and my birthday. I had no idea what they could have gotten me. When I opened it, I was truly surprised. I would have never guessed it would be a blue Voltron lion. Wow!!

They would have liked to have gotten me the whole Voltron, but it was expensive, so they pitched in to get me the blue lion. How sweet is that!

Now the kids want to collect all five! LOL! MaryEllen already bought the yellow one and they are saving up for the remainder. I must admit, I am a little excited too. 🙂

We searched YouTube for the cartoon so that the kids could see how they transform. Well I found out that they brought him back a few years ago. I didn’t recognize the lions, they had curves and I remembered them more boxy. The theme song was rap which I didn’t remember either. Come to find out we were watching the newer version. After a little more searching, we found the original. My, cartoons have come a long way!
