Entangled with the Affairs of this Life
FYI: I wrote this a few month ago, but feel it is still relevant with the elections being over.
I want to encourage Christians not to get entangled with the affairs of this life. (2 Tim 2:4) The election, that is a thing of this world.
It pains me to see so many Christians worried about this coming election. What a lot of people don’t realize already is that God’s hand has not been on this country in many, many years. He has left the building folks. His judgement is on us.
We are a reprobate nation; one who has rejected God. And to be clear, God was never the god of this nation. Yes, we were blessed at one time, but that was because we adhered to godly principles, not because we worshipped the one true God.
We need to remember that we live in a wicked nation within a wicked world. We don’t find comfort or security in man or in government. We find it in God.
“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.” –Ps 118:8-9 kjv
We need to remember that we are not citizens of this world, nor of the U.S.A., but we are citizens of a heavenly country. We are as Abraham, a sojourner, a pilgrim, travelling through this world but looking forward to a heavenly country.
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” –Heb 11:8-16 kjv
God has called us out of this world, so don’t be mindful of the country from whence ye came, but set your mind on the ‘better country, that is, an heavenly’ country.
“Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.” – Ps 39:12 kjv
I think we forget that, and we place our allegiance in the wrong place. You might not think you are doing so, but it is done subconsciously.
Satan is the god of this world. As he ruled Tyre, so I believe he is ruling the United States. His minions are those seated in power.
Our political system is a distraction from what is really going on and from what really matters. Nothing ever changes because it is set up that way. It doesn’t matter which party is in office, the goal is the same. The only thing that changes is for the benefit of the one-world government Satan is moving towards, not for the people.
Oh, they will throw us a bone now and again, but it is only to appease us and to make us feel like we matter, but in reality, we do not.
Voting doesn’t matter because the powers-that-be choose who will become president.
Both parties are wicked! The Democrat party is a farce and demonic, but so is the Republican party; although the Democrats are farther down the line.
I don’t believe God gives a hoot who wins this election. He cannot back either candidate because they both are wicked. God will not choose the lesser of two evils.
God is not a respecter of persons, nor is he a respecter of nations. Nations mean nothing to him.
“Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.” –Isaiah 40:15a, 17 kjv
I know my point of view is not popular, but when I read the scriptures I find that my fight is not carnal, but spiritual. And, no, this election is not a spiritual issue. We are worried about this carnal world and how it will affect us. Just in case you forgot, God is going to burn this world. In case you forgot, we don’t win this battle. The battle we should be in should be for souls.
The same work Jesus gave to his disciples is the same work he gives to us, to win the lost and to make disciples. He didn’t tell us to get involved in the political system of this world that we are not a part of. We are ambassadors of a heavenly country sent by Jesus. We should have no allegiance to this world.
Blessings,
