Homegrown Worms
Last Friday, Don and the kids went fishing after a long winter. 🙂 What made it even more exciting was they used the worms that they helped raise.
I am not sure what kind of worms they are, but they get pretty big and juicy.
This worm farm is in our living room. I wasn’t too happy about that, but I have gotten use to it. We only had about four escapees! Luckily I spotted them before I stepped on them. Ack, worms between the toes does not sound good. lol!
Donnie is picking out the worms as Don moves around the dirt. The farm is four levels. We even got worm tea for the compost we should have begun already!!
Look at those juicy worms. I am sure the fish will be happy. When they fish, they do catch and release. Both kids bait their own hooks. I’ve watched them do it, and it is dis-gus-ting! But, I am proud that they do it on their own.
They spent about 3-4 hours at the lake. They all caught a few fish, including cat fish. Don showed them how to hold the fish while removing the hook from its mouth.
I sat this one out and caught up on some things around the house and on the web. 😉
Here’s to more fishing! The weather is looking good and the robins are out and about. The bush in our yard is beginning to bloom. Yip, spring is on her way!!
Make it a great day,
Wow Cynce, that is quite disgusting 😉 LOL
I don’t know if I could touch those…funny how you become more sensitive to things like that in your “old age”, huh? But it sounds like Donnie and MaryEllen had a good time and that’s what counts – plus they got to spend time with their Daddy. 🙂
