Outside Fun
This past week, we got a new game to give us something to do outside. It took some getting use to, but I think we are getting the hang of it now. We are no experts, and miss more than we make it on the bars, but like the old saying goes, ‘practice makes perfect’.
I don’t know what the game is called, but you toss a string with a ball on each end and hope for it to land on a ‘step’ of the ladder on the other side. Each step is worth one, two and three points. I still forget if it is going up the ladder or down. LOL! We haven’t been playing for points (since we don’t get much), but more for the practice of actually getting anything on the ladder. Needless to say, Don is the best so far.
We also bought a tether ball and a throwing target (?). We haven’t set up the tether ball yet…can’t wait though because I remember having lots of fun playing with one at my Grandma-pa’s house growing up. I know the kids will enjoy this.
The throwing target is to help with Donnie’s aim. He throws good, but sometimes his aim is off. He really likes this.
Now that the weather is cooling down, I am hoping to get out more with the kids. During the hot, hot, summer, I couldn’t last very long before retreating indoors, leaving the kids outside. 🙂
Yay! Got one!
Zooming through the air. We finally got it to spin in the air as it made its way to the opposite ladder.
Judging how far the other ladder is and how hard to toss the stringed balls is, of course, the most challenging part.
Too Much fun!
Wow, that looks like fun! And when you get really good at it, do you then move the ladder farther away? It’s seems it’ll be a good way to improve your coordination and arm muscles too! 😉
