Sunday Audio Reads
This is our new audio read! We take about an hour trip every Sunday to see Don’s Mom who is in a nursing home. To make the time pass, we listen to audio books.
Our current one is this 4-part series I found on Christy. It says it is the Juvenile Fiction Series, but either way, we are enjoying the story very much. Right now, Library and Education is selling the CD Set for about $15 each. I have seen them on Amazon for about $22 each, so this is a nice deal.
Other audio books we have enjoyed on our Sunday drives have been:
- The Chronicles of Narnia by Focus on the Family Radio Theatre
- The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Radio Theatre: Chronicles of Narnia)
- Prince Caspian (Radio Theatre: Chronicles of Narnia)
- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Radio Theatre)
- The Silver Chair (Radio Theatre: Chronicles of Narnia)
- The Horse and His Boy (Radio Theatre)
- The Magician’s Nephew (Radio Theatre: Chronicles of Narnia)
- The Last Battle (Radio Theatre: Chronicles of Narnia)
All of these were done wonderfully. We enjoyed them very much.
- The Cricket in Times Square – This was such a cute story. I hadn’t read it since I was in grade school, so it was like a whole new story. Don and the kids enjoyed it too. The reader did a great job with the voices.
- Your Story Hour
I am hoping to collect more in this series.
- Anne of Green Gables Focus on the Family Radio Theatre
- The Secret Garden Focus on the Family Radio Theatre
- Little Women Focus on the Family Radio Theatre
- The Legend of Squanto Focus on the Family Radio Theatre
- James Herriot’s Treasury for Children: Warm and Joyful Animal Tales – I never read this book to the kids, although MaryEllen has read it to herself. These were very heart warming animal tales. Another one we enjoyed very much.
- Jonathan Park Vol 1-6 – We really enjoyed these. We hated for it to end.
We have enjoyed the Focus on the Family Radio Dramas and we are looking forward to listening to The Christmas Carol this December.
Enjoy,
