Visit To The Radio Station
Our local radio station was having a share-a-thon all week. On the last day, they have a huge garage sale with fun things for the kids to do. Last fall, they mentioned that you could tour the radio station. The kids and I wanted to go, but were unable to because of Don’s work schedule.
We were excited when we found out that Don’s days off were changed this week only and that one fell on the day of the garage sale. 🙂
So, Saturday, we headed for the church. The first thing we asked was if we could tour the radio station. They were happy to accommodate us.
We listen to The Oak everyday and especially like the music from 4-6 when the Preacherman is on. We were hoping to meet him, but he was not there. We did get to meet a few others that we hear regularly. 🙂
We also got to sit in while they announced the winner of an Ipad they were giving away. They are listener supported, so everyone who gave during the share-a-thon was automatically entered. We got to be the official witnesses that ‘no funny business is going on at WOAK.’ We also got to shout a congratulations message to the winner!!
They invited the kids back to be announcers to their kid show they run on Saturday. MaryEllen and Donnie are a little shy to be on radio, so we will see if they do it. I think it would be fun!
I guess I was too excited, that I forgot to take pictures. Don was chatting with one of the guys, so he too didn’t think about pictures. But, you can visit them at http://www.woak.com. You can hear them via the internet too.
Happy Listening,
How fun! I think that would be neat if the kids made a few announcements, but I can understand their shyness since we were very shy when young. Too bad you forgot to take pictures but at least you have the memories…and maybe you can go back and do it again with the camera flashing! 🙂
